This was a great day - my cousin Spencer is engaged to Emily, who lives in San Francisco. So we meandered around a small section of the city and found some incredible spots. I had a 
few moments of "do I really live here???" 

Some of my favorite moments were all the laughing pictures, because we all know how I like laughing pictures. Most of these occurred after attempts at "soft, serious faces," which is harder to pull off than models make it seem. (I won't release the funniest attempts to the public if you guys promise to stay on my good side). 

You are adorable! Welcome to the family, Em!  

This yellow blanket was crocheted by our legendary Grandma Verena, so I threw it in just in case--turns out it was one of those crazy cold summer by the bay days, so it was great to have on the beach. I'm not sure Gram could have guessed it would make it's way to the bay area to live when she was crocheting it on the farm in illinois. Thanks for keeping us warm, Gram! 

All that work on the soft faces paid off, and I think this one may be my favorite. You guys can be models after all.

Mark + Megan

Mark and Megan are friends with my roommate, Anna, and hail from the good people from the Midwest. She is due with baby number one in a few months, and wanted to capture the new life growing inside her. We had a glorious fall day, adventuring around a little lake and chasing the sunset. 

Afterwards, I told Anna "they are lovely people...Megan didn't even flinch when I almost shoved her off a tree in an attempt to help her balance." (Sorry, Megan! You are lovely!)Excited to meet your new bundle!

Old friends are the best. I knew Kirk in college, where we participated in one of the great prank wars of our time. The guys always beat us at the games, and at one point bagged up roadkill and left in on our porch. Ah, the memories. 

They celebrated their 10th anniversary by driving up the coast, and we captured these shots at one of my favorite places in san fran, the ferry building. Fall in the bay area has been quite glorious; persimmons and pomegranates, warm days and cool nights. I think I'm smitten. 

 

Kirk endured a ridiculous line for his first cup of blue bottle. Although leery, he did admit it was delicious. 

So fun to see you friends and hear about your lives and see how much you adore each other.
